LANCET SERIES ON GLOBAL MENTAL HEALTH

   
The Lancet Global Mental Health Series is comprised of six articles that summarise:
   
1.
The global burden of mental disorders and their relevance to current global public health priorities, including the Millennium Development Goals. (469 KB)

The scarcity, inequity and inefficiency of mental health resources in all countries, but especially in low and middle income countries. (2.44 MB)
   
3.
The effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of drug and psychological interventions for many mental disorders. (377 KB)
   
4.
The limited human resources, policies and plans to deliver effective mental healthcare in countries around the world. (164 KB)
   
5.
The barriers to reform, and scaling up of coverage of evidence-based treatments. (233 KB)
   
6.
A Call for Action – for scaling up of treatment of mental disorders, for the human rights of those affected to be protected, and for more research in low and middle income countries.  (295 KB)
