    A key finding of the report is that people with mental illnesses are frequently neglected and discriminated against. Of 98 countries for which data were available, almost half allocated 2% or less of their national budget to mental health."

Packages of care

Although there is now considerable evidence on what treatments work for specific mental disorders (article 3 of The Lancet series on Global Mental Health ) This section of the website collates information on effective interventions for people with mental disorders. We include any package of care aimed at mental health promotion or the treatment or prevention of mental disorders. We are especially interested in descriptions of how these packages were delivered and on the evidence of their impact. We are looking, in particular, for reports about interventions in low- and middle-income countries or other low resource settings.
