Programs for mental health care

There is a lack of documentation about the organization, management and implementation of mental health programs. When governments, NGOs, clinicians, and administrators want to develop a program, they must proceed without a detailed understanding of strategies that others have already tried, and which have either succeeded or failed. This lack of information, almost inevitably, leads to inefficiencies and inequities and wastes precious resources on ‘reinventing the wheel’. To address this gap in knowledge, this section of the website enables users to view narrative accounts of mental health care  programs that have been implemented in low resource settings. We invite members of the Movement for Global Mental Health to submit case studies of mental health care programs. Case studies could describe multilateral agencies, professional societies, governmental, NGO, academic, user-led or other programs.
