Announcement of the Second MGMH Secretariat
We are delighted to formally announce that the Principal Coordinator of the MGMH Secretariat from 2014-2016 will be Mr Jagannath Lamichhane from Nepal Mental Health Foundation and that the Secretariat will be hosted by the Centre for Mental Health, Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI).
Both Jagannath and PHFI will be well known to many MGMH members. Jagannath has been an inspiration to many and we are confident that he, with the support of PHFI, will do an excellent job of advancing the goals of MGMH.
It has been a privilege and also a pleasure for the Centre for International Mental Health, University of Melbourne, to establish and to manage the first formal MGMH Secretariat.
Two of our key priorities were around the need for complete transparency and opportunities for members to have a say in all MGMH activities. We have learned many lessons, overcome various obstacles and gained enormously from this experience. We hope that we have been able to share this with the MGMH community. The generosity of its members in volunteering their time and resources has been critical in making the MGMH activities possible. We would like to take this opportunity to express our sincere gratitude for your commitment and generosity. We hope that some of you will continue to support this work by the new Secretariat and also encourage others to do so.
In the coming weeks we will work with Jagannath and his team at PHFI to effect a smooth and efficient handover of Secretariat functions. To the extent that it is useful CIMH will of course be ready and available to support Jagannath and his team in taking on and settling into this new role.
Please join us in congratulating Jagannath and PHFI by posting your comments below.
