The GETHealth Summit, 6-7 February 2013 in the United Nations, New York City, aimed ‘to bridge the health workforce gap in developing countries through new partnerships between innovators in Global Health Education and Information Technology. The Summit brought together leaders in health, education and IT to discuss and develop initiatives designed to empower providers in the most resource-limited communities in the world’. It were very inspiring and entertaining days: About 150 optimistic and dedicated people from around the World, a bulk of knowledge and experience and plenty of successes and recommendations (and a few failures). I would like to bring across the main messages from this summit in ’20 golden tips’.
Nothing About Us, Without Us - Voices from the Global South
28th-29th November 2015
Movement For Global Mental Health is delighted to announce the fourth Global Mental Health Summit to be held at the TISS Campus in Mumbai, India on the 28th and 29th of November 2015. The focus of this year’s Global Health Summit, themed “Nothing About Us, Without Us”, will be driven mainly by persons living with mental health issues from different social, cultural and educational ecosystems. The aim is to bring to the forefront voices of individuals from marginalized backgrounds, those who are rarely represented in discussions related to the mental health agenda.
We invite contributions (for both the scientific and non-scientific sessions that include theatre, short films, music, dance and other art forms) that highlight the issues faced by people living with mental health issues. People interested in attending and presenting at the Summit should contact the secreatariat at firstname.lastname@example.org.
